The Gyp Hills region of Kansas has some very interesting and unique landscapes to photograph. On this evening the sunset was creating beautiful colors in the sky and creating nice soft light to illuminate the landscape. This wide open view out across the hills has an expansive feeling to it for me which I find peaceful. There is a bit of rugged feeling to this landscape that reminds me of a setting you might come across in a Western novel.

Living in the middle of the Great Plains has given me an appreciation of the wide-open spaces of the prairie, especially the Flint Hills region and the tallgrass prairie found there.
